The Original Atomic Book

The Original Atomic Book is a pseudo-journal witnessing all the atomic blasts from the first dropped on July 16, 1945, launching the Atomic Age through the 60's. Notations on payload, location, effects accompany sketches of the blasts. The journal is encased in a 4" Dunny painted to appear as if it has survived a radioactive blast. The doll sits in a reclined position and appears to have been blown open. The posture also doubles as a book rest. Endpapers are topographic maps, artwork is in colored ink and graphite. In the private collection of Benn Ray.
